Piscis Cranium Faciei
By nightfall, I often wander off to the puddles at the south-side of the City. They start glowing ever so slightly by sundown…an enjoyable subtle spectacle to witness.
Today, however, it was high noon, when I found myself hung over one of those puddles. The sun aligned in such a way, I could see that this lily pond had quite a deep bottom. At the muddy base I saw an extraordinary small skull. So, I got down on my knees and put my arm in the water to try and take one out. Stirring the water made it blurry and I couldn’t see If I was grabbing in the right place.
I retracted my arm to let the sand settle for the water to clear again. While the sand was sinking I suddenly saw a fish. I hadn’t seen it when putting my hand in…I looked at the fish a little closer and saw where the tiny skull, that I couldn’t grab, had gone.
So I named it ‘the piscis cranium faciei’, which loosely translates to ‘skull faced fish’…
Even on a sunny day, the weird always subsists in the deep dark, apparently…
