the city of the depressed

This large butterfly has a wingspan of  20 to 25 cm. It is the largest species found so far in the province. It is nocturnal, which confuses some people, because it behaves like a moth…but it belongs to the monophyletic group of butterflies, from the order of the Lepidoptera (which includes both moths and butterflies, by the way)’.

Spotting this nocturnal butterfly is believed, by some people, to usher in joyful change. There is a surprisingly large community at Dismania that wander the streets at night hoping to get a glimpse of this insect.
